It's That Time of Year

Lovely weather is here (well, this week anyway! ha ha ha) and so are the community garage sales in our town. I decided to participate this year so I'm currently running around like a chicken with my head caught off trying to prepare everything. Did I mention we're opening our sale tomorrow morning? Why, oh why am I such a procrastinator?! I have a terrible, terrible, terrible habit of putting things off - grrr! At least I'm trying to change, though :)

So that's where I'll be for the next few days. Hopefully we'll make a little extra cash. Everything we don't sell is outta here (my husband 'casually' mentioned that this morning...'I'm backin' a truck up, throwin' whatever doesn't sell in there and goin' right over to Goodwill'). See, that's another example of how we complement one another....*I* might be tempted to have second thoughts and bring it back in the house. Praise the Lord for our differences!!!

  1. My husband would have said the same thing!!! haha! I actually have a garage full of stuff that I was suppose to use for a garage sale LAST year, but it just became so overwhelming that I decided I was not organized enough with it. So hopefully this year I can get it going! Hope you do well!

  2. Good luck with the garage sale...I think I've only had one garage sale EVER!

    1. I don't like people on my lawn at 5:30-6:00 in the morning.

    2. I don't want to argue with someone I don't even know because they want my at one time prized possession for a dime when alls I'm asking is 50 cents.

    3. Garage sales are a whole lotta work sister!

I'd rather just donate it all to Goodwill or Discovery Shop (proceeds go to cancer research)

  3. Good luck with your sale! I have had a few garage sales and said I'd never do it again. I don't know, I just don't get excited about sitting outside for hours trying to sell my stuff. I'm with Linda - I'm a donater. I just try to remember to take it off on my taxes.

P.S. Okay, really, I just HATE the organizing and pricing part. I would probably love the selling and making money part if I didn't have to do the other. Have fun and I hope your weather is beautiful!

  4. I hope it's successful. I've never had a good garage sale. I think it's because I take so much to Goodwill. When my husband decides to have a sale, there is just not anything really good to sell. I feel so intimidated when ladies get out of their cars walk over and look at my "junk" and turn around and leave LOL. I meekly tell them that all the good stuff was already taken.
