A few more very random things about me...

Just thought I'd share a few more random things about me...

1) I am NOT a morning person! Never have been. Doesn't matter if I've had a lot of sleep the night before or just a little - still don't enjoy getting up with the roosters! But I do get up early anyway to see my husband and kids out the door each weekday morning. (Nah, I don't go back to bed - couldn't sleep if I tried :)

2) I enjoy rearranging my furniture. Some people I know change it every single month; others I know haven't changed anything in years. I don't rearrange every month but I do like to change things around. (I warned ya these were RANDOM things!)

3) I tend to be a very reflective person. I love reminiscing about good times from the past. (I do that a lot about my late mother :) I like to think about things in my life that make me smile.

4) I got baptized when I was 12 years old. It was in the middle of winter and there was quite a bad snowstorm that evening.

5) I never got involved in extracurricular activities in high school. Nope, not even one. Never wanted to. I went to school, did my time and graduated. One of my classes my senior year was a co-op job. I loved it that I went to school for only a few hours, then went to work...not only did I get paid for it but I also received credit for graduation! I worked at a clothing store at the mall. Loved that part, too - got an employee discount on all the latest fashions - HA!

6) I went on a mission trip to Haiti when I was 14 years old. Our youth group drove from Michigan all the way to Florida, then we flew to Haiti from Miami. Uh, just trust me on this one - it was a VERY long trip! Someone had a Petra tape (yes, a cassette tape - remember, it was the 80s, after all!) and kept playing it over and over and over and over. Now, I really DID like Petra but if I had to listen to the song, "For Annie" ONE*MORE*TIME after that trip....oh my! I still like Petra, though - I really do :)

7) My very first trip to Disney World was during that same mission trip after our return to the States.

8) That was also the first time I'd ever been on a plane or traveled as far away from Michigan as we did.

9) I lived in North Carolina for about 4 1/2 years and just loved it! It was pretty scary moving away from all of our family and friends at first but we adjusted and God provided the most wonderful church family in all the world. I still miss so many dear friends from NC.

10) My husband "sang" to me at our wedding, just not live at that very moment. Well, actually, here's the story...he went to a recording studio and recorded "I Will Be Here" by Steven Curtis Chapman and it was played at the wedding. I LOVE that song! It came on the radio yesterday and I still feel as tender now when I hear it as I did when Bobby sang it :)

  2. Loved learning more about you Michelle! That is just so romantic that your husband sang a song for you at your wedding. I bet you "teared" up, didn't you?!!
I'd probably have been standing in a puddle by the time it was over! LOL

  3. I'd probably cry every time I heard the song if my H sang it to me. How wonderfully romantic.

Enjoyed your random things. I used to rearrange furniture all the time. I get tired of it & rearrange it again.

  5. Fun post! I am the exact same way as you on your #1, 2, 3, & 5! I've never been to Disney (we think we are going in January!) and the first time I flew in a plane was on our honeymoon. I was 18 and we went to Cancun, Mexico. I was baptized just months before my wedding at age 17. I've never been on a mission trip, though I hope to one day. And our wedding song was "Just you and I" and I too still get giddy when I hear it!

Thanks for sharing this random details about yourself.....I enjoyed it!

By the way, Luke seems to be feeling much better. I've given him motrin, so I'm not sure if the fever is gone for good, but he has had no other symptoms and he got his appetite back this evening. I'm hoping it was just a little 24 hour virus. If one of them is going to be sick, this is the bug to have! He just laid around and slept a lot today! I took it as a good excuse to sit and hold him! Thanks for praying!
