Calling all chocolate lovers!

So, how many of you out there LOVE chocolate? Honestly, I can take it or leave it. Okay, I'm NOT saying I would probably turn it down if offered or anything like that but....HA HA HA

I'm currently having some camera issues so there's no picture to share. Um, MAYBE that's a good thing, though - all of you chocolate lovers would be salivating!

We attend a weekly Life Group meeting for the new church we just started going to. (We are so excited that God has led us there!) First we have dinner and dessert followed by a short lesson, then some discussion, prayer and more fellowship. I signed up to bring dessert last night.

I was getting kind of tired of bringing the same old boring brownies, cookies, cake, whatever so I wanted to try something different. (Um, I think I read somewhere once that you're NOT supposed to try a new recipe when you're either A) having company or B) taking it somewhere - oh well, guess I broke THAT rule!)

My daughter & I started looking through my recipe books and Taylor found a Pampered Chef recipe for Rocky Road Delight. She was like, "Oh yeah, Mom - THIS is the one!" Boy, was she ever right 'cause it was DE-LEESH! I'll share the recipe but I'll also tell ya that I used fun-size Snickers bars and brought mini pretzels and graham crackers to serve with this ooey-gooey, yummy, chocolatey delicious dip.

Now, honestly I don't have a bunch a Pampered Chef stuff - just a few things here and there - so it took me a minute or two to "decode" this recipe into "regular" language. J/K hee hee

ROCKY ROAD DELIGHT

1 1/4 cups milk chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1 container (8 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed
2 bars (1.5-2 ounces each) favorite chocolate candy, coarsely chopped
1 cup miniature marshmallows
1/3 cup cashews or peanuts, coarsely chopped
32 2 1/2" graham cracker squares

1) Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Place chocolate morsels and whipped topping in CLASSIC BATTER BOWL. Microwave, uncovered, on HIGH 1-2 minutes or until melted and smooth, whisking after each 30-second interval using STAINLESS STEEL WHISK. Spoon chocolate mixture into SMALL OVAL BAKER using SMALL MIX 'N SCRAPER.

2) Coarsely chop candy bars using CRINKLE CUTTER; sprinkle over chocolate mixture. Top with marshmallows. Coarsely chop nuts using FOOD CHOPPER; sprinkle over marshmallows. Bake 8-10 minutes or until marshmallows are lightly toasted. Serve warm with graham crackers.

YIELD: 16 servings

Another idea to try...

I also put together a "chocolate lovers" platter of a dozen chocolate cupcakes, a half dozen of assorted chocolate pudding cups, fun size Snickers bars, chocolate chips scattered around for decoration - simple enough but it looked pretty. Wish I had a picture to share :)

  2. It's wonderful the Lord has led your family to a church which you all enjoy!! That's soooo important. My girls love our church too - - and that's so important to hubs and I.

That recipe looks awesome. I AM a chocolate lover, so I'll have to save this recipe to try when I have company. . . so it's not calling to me all day LOL.
