A Survivor Celebration!
Yesterday marked the 2 year anniversary since I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I mentioned in my last post about having a "survivor" celebration. The party was last night and boy, did we ever have a good time! I changed a few things on the cupcake tier and reused it for my party. I wrote out 42 random facts about me to share. (In case you're wondering where the 42 comes in, that's how old I am :) Party decorations made from coffee filters and cardstock die-cuts. I went to my local scrapbook store and cut the breast cancer ribbons myself using their die-cut machine. You buy the paper (55 cents) and the first 20 cuts are free. Not a bad deal! My sweet cousin made this adorable "Celebrate Life" banner using her Cricut. I wasn't expecting any gifts at all but several people brought some very nice things. Not pictured is a Pandora bracelet and pretty charm. The bracelet had to be sized. Some family friends also made a donation to the National Breast Cancer Foundation in my name. Sooo, so sweet! Our wonderful pastor and his family brought this beautiful rose bush. Now I've just gotta find the perfect spot in my yard to plant it! I can't begin to tell you how loved and special I felt last night! I am truly blessed to have an amazing family and wonderful friends!
First of all CONGRATULATIONS! Your party looked like it was so much fun. The decorations were so cute and nice! (You should be a party planner!) I really enjoyed the pictures...thanks for sharing. Hugs to you and once again congratulations, and as the banner says "Celebrate Life"!!
Im thankful that you were healed by God of your cancer. May He continue to give you complete good health for the rest of your life. God bless. p.s. I love your light blonde hair, looks really good on you! :)
Michelle, What a beautiful celebration. I'm so thankful you are alive and healthy. It's hard to believe two years. That means we've known each other for two years. I'm so happy to know you Michelle and sorry I have not kept in touch. Hopefully things well be less busy around here and I can catch up with you. Love, Kathi
From now on, I am going to grab the good times with both arms. I am going to walk outside and feel the sun on my face and learn to laugh, really laugh again. Most of all, I'm going to take the love that comes my way and hold on to it for dear life. Sometimes we don't need new scenery, just new eyes. ~Dawn Miller
Be An Encourager!
A smile of encouragement at the right moment may act like sunlight on a closed-up flower; it may be the turning point for a struggling life. ~Author Unknown
"Measuring A Life"
My deeds will be measured not by my youthful appearance... but by the concern lines on my forehead...
The laugh lines around my mouth...
and the chins from seeing what can be done
for those smaller than me or who have fallen.

I Am A Pink Warrior!
I was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer in July 2008. Since that time I've had a double mastectomy, reconstruction, chemo, radiation and several other surgeries. Fast forward a year...it's now July 2009 and I'm all done with treatment. My hair has grown back, I'm feeling great! GOD is good and life is good! I've gotten loads of support from family and friends. I'm living a "NEW NORMAL" these days and just very thankful to be here!!! Always keep a positive attitude and don't pass up an opportunity to show love and kindness to others. Don't live your life with regrets and enjoy each day!

Hello there ~ welcome to my blog! My name is Michelle. I've been married to a great guy for 20 years and we've been very blessed with 3 cool kids - a boy & 2 girls. My family means everything to me and I try to make our home a wonderful place to be. I LOVE to decorate and work on "trash to treasure" projects ~ that's what I can be found doing most of the time (um, sometimes other than what I'm SUPPOSED to be doing...like laundry, for instance! LOL) I think laughter is a vital part of life so I always try to choose to look at the humorous side of things...if life throws lemons your way, why not make lemonade, right?!
What a great reason to celebrate! Congrats to you!
