A Very Cold Walk For A Super Cause!
Taylor and me...boy, that hot coffee sure was great right about that time! (Notice my 'SURVIVOR' ribbon :) I'm sure you're all aware that October is 'Breast Cancer Awareness' month, right? Well, my daughter Taylor & I participated in our first 'Making Strides Against Breast Cancer' walk this past weekend. It was quite cold out (not quite 40 degrees @ 8 a.m.) but we both got all bundled up in our long johns, layered clothes, gloves, hats and put our walking shoes on! The walk was about 3.5 miles long and about 4,000 people turned out to walk in support. There was so much pink there that day! :) It was a really cool experience and I can't wait for next year!
Even though it was cold, I bet the feeling of Joy of being with your daughter and other surviors celebrating and walking for so many women. You truly are a hero! How wonderful to be doing something so wonderful with all your fellow sisters... who do know the horrors of what you have been through! I love your thick beautful hair! :-)
From now on, I am going to grab the good times with both arms. I am going to walk outside and feel the sun on my face and learn to laugh, really laugh again. Most of all, I'm going to take the love that comes my way and hold on to it for dear life. Sometimes we don't need new scenery, just new eyes. ~Dawn Miller
Be An Encourager!
A smile of encouragement at the right moment may act like sunlight on a closed-up flower; it may be the turning point for a struggling life. ~Author Unknown
"Measuring A Life"
My deeds will be measured not by my youthful appearance... but by the concern lines on my forehead...
The laugh lines around my mouth...
and the chins from seeing what can be done
for those smaller than me or who have fallen.

I Am A Pink Warrior!
I was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer in July 2008. Since that time I've had a double mastectomy, reconstruction, chemo, radiation and several other surgeries. Fast forward a year...it's now July 2009 and I'm all done with treatment. My hair has grown back, I'm feeling great! GOD is good and life is good! I've gotten loads of support from family and friends. I'm living a "NEW NORMAL" these days and just very thankful to be here!!! Always keep a positive attitude and don't pass up an opportunity to show love and kindness to others. Don't live your life with regrets and enjoy each day!

Hello there ~ welcome to my blog! My name is Michelle. I've been married to a great guy for 20 years and we've been very blessed with 3 cool kids - a boy & 2 girls. My family means everything to me and I try to make our home a wonderful place to be. I LOVE to decorate and work on "trash to treasure" projects ~ that's what I can be found doing most of the time (um, sometimes other than what I'm SUPPOSED to be doing...like laundry, for instance! LOL) I think laughter is a vital part of life so I always try to choose to look at the humorous side of things...if life throws lemons your way, why not make lemonade, right?!
You guys look so cute in your pinkness!!! I'm proud of you! Good job both of you!!!
