The Latest Info...

My doctor's appointment went well this past Monday. I have a surgery date...Thursday, April 2nd. I was honestly a little disappointed it wouldn't be sooner - so I could just get it over with, recover and move on to the radiation treatments. See, now the problem is that I won't be finished with radiation much before Tyler's graduation and all of those activities. My secret hope was that I would at least be done and feeling pretty good by that time. Oh well, that's the earliest date I could be put on the surgeon's schedule...

It has been just over a week since my last chemo treatment and I seem to be feeling better each day. I'm so glad for that. I've gotta be honest...I used to take my health for granted, like so many of us do, before I was diagnosed with cancer. I don't now at all, that's for sure! I value each day and actually feeling good is an exciting thing.

I went thrifting last night and found some amazing things. I'll have to take pictures and share in an upcoming post.

Our daughter's drivers training is going well. Class started on Monday and yesterday was her first time out driving on the road. Taylor proudly announced to me when I picked her up that very soon she can drive me around - oh my, how quickly they grow up, don't they!

Hope you all have a wonderful day...I'm off to do some shopping and meet my husband for lunch :)

  1. Hey Michelle,
I'm just getting back into visiting around again, and catching up. I just want you to know that you've still been in my prayers, even though I've been absent. Thank you for the updates, and I'll add the next events to my list.
I know what you mean (on a much smaller scale) about not taking your health for granted. I'm content for each day I get up feeling good.
I'll check back in here, soon.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Karen

  5. For you, I wish your surgery could be sooner so you could just be done with it! But, I'm so glad that you're slowly but surely feeling better after the horrible chemo effects. And, if it makes you feel any better - Brittony just finished her radiation. The only ill effects she seemed to deal with were tiredness. She didn't get the sickness like she did from chemo. The radiation did "sunburn" her and her skin is sensitive, but she really felt pretty good. I will certainly be praying for you through it all!

I am still trying to catch up on correspondence. We are okay down here. It has been a really hard couple of months.

I'm glad Taylor is doing well with her driving. Jamie will be doing that in May! I don't think I'm ready.

  7. Michelle, I'm glad that things are going well right now. Thank goodness Chemo is over! Radiation certainly won't be as bad.

You are so right about not taking our health for granted. As a nurse, I see sickness on a daily basis and believe me, I count my blessings daily.

Take care and have a wonderful, relaxing weekend.
