Confessions of a Fabric Addict :)

All right, I'll fess up....I'm a FABRIC ADDICT!!! OK, I'll admit this while I'm at it - I LOVE patterns, too. I'm a sucker for finding fabric on sale. And those 99 cent pattern sales? I just can't seem to help myself! I scour through thrift stores, garage sales and the sale table at W-mart for that $1/yd. fabric. I've gotten quite friendly with the W-mart gals in the fabric & crafts department, wherever we've lived. Here, NC...yup, they know me! Anyway, back to my story. This is what one of the fabric chicks who worked at W.M. in NC was telling me about the fabric there. Most of that stuff you'll find on the sale table is seconds from places like Waverly and all that. They've just got some flaws that most of the time can easily be worked around. Ooooh, I was pretty excited to hear that!

There's a fabric store in Charlotte, NC that has all their fabric for $6.99/yd. OH MY WORD - I used to LOVE, LOVE, LOVE going in there!!!!!! Most of it was the decorator fabric on bolts but there was also a great variety of flat-folds. There were also beautiful trims, upholstery supplies, etc. Ahhh, I was like a kid in a candy store! LOL I haven't found anything like that here close to where I live...{sigh} Have any of you visited that store in Charlotte I'm talking about? I can't even remember the name of it now.

So tell me, do any of you hoard fabric like I do? Oh, I use it and everything but I DO have quite a bit of fabric in my possession. Not anything at all like one of my aunt's, though! Her sewing room is GINORMOUS and she's got TONS of fabric - ummm, that she's had for years and years and years, I might add. Now, I know if I ever get like that - I've got a serious addiction that will definitely need intervention! ha ha ha

Maybe *someday* I'll pull my craft/sewing/scrapbooking area together and I'll share pictures.
You just never know what you might find at your local Goodwill. $4.99 is not too bad to pay for a bolt of good decorator fabric that size.
I liked the price of this bolt of airy, sheer white fabric. How much you ask? F-R-E-E!
Great looking fabric, huh? Love that subtle stripe :) I think it will work well for a shade project I have in mind.
I like View D...do ya see it waaaaay over there at the lower right hand side? Yup, I love that roman shade look. We have two windows in our bedroom and they sorely need to have those cheapo vinyl roller shades changed out.

Please share your fabric buying habits. Do you only buy it when you need it for a particular project? What about when you see something you like and it's on sale? I'd love to hear all about it and see some of your sewing projects!
