Childlike Faith

This is a picture of our son Tyler when he was 4 years old - back in 1995 and in Pre-K. Why am I showing you this picture? Well, you've got to see how adorable he was at this age before I tell the story.

Now, Tyler has always been very dramatic and animated. He's always been so silly and loved to laugh. More specifically, he has always loved to make other people laugh. You know - the whole 'class clown' scenario. (He's quite good at it, too - I must say :)

Tyler went to a private Christian school and the kids used to often sing in front of the church congregation, which was fairly large - like 500 people or more. The little kids were always in the front of the choir. Well, you can guess who was right there in the front row...yep, Tyler! And he just LOVED that! He was the kid who really got into the song doing the hand motions very dramatically - the one who was pretty entertaining to watch. Yep, Tyler used to totally 'ham it up' when the school choir sang!

God brought to my remembrance this morning one song in particular the little school choir used to sing. It's also one Tyler would go around the house singing when he was a little guy. It's almost like if I close my eyes, I can go back in time and see it like it was yesterday.

Here are the words to the song...

Fear thou not for I am with you,
Be not dismayed I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
And I will help you,
I will uphold you with my loving hand.

Isaiah 41:10

The memory of Tyler singing that with his childlike faith and thinking about what that scripture means really comforted me this morning. I'm so thankful we serve such a good and faithful God!

Until next time,
Michelle

  1. What a doll he is!

There is nothing like a child to remind us of what life is really all about.

Big hugs to you my dear. I hope you are feeling well today.

Oh and the wax I used was Howards Citrus Shield. It has a nice orange smell to it. It's a paste wax and I got natural color.

    Take care.
    Hugs,
    Joanne

  6. Not sure how I found your blog but I do not belive it was by accident. I will pray for you and your family as you walk through this season of uncertainty. I kept a journal during a really difficult time in my life and I love looking back over it and seeing how God worked in my life and changed me through my circumstances. What a sweet story about your son singing. There is really nothing like a childlike faith.
    Blessings,
    Linda
