I will say a prayer for you tonight. This is the one year anniversary of the death of my neighbor's son, so it has been a day of prayer for me already.
I know how hard it is to lose a parent - I lost my Daddy 6 1/2 years ago and I still miss him every day. Just today I wanted to pick up the phone to tell him something. So hard sometimes...
P.S. I'm glad that Tyler is doing so well. I'm sorry I haven't been around much to keep up with things!
This is in response to your "Gift Giving" post a few back.....
I am there with ya. My Girls graduated last week, and a few graduate on Saturday. Man, oh Man. A $20 graduation gift just was NOT in the budget for 10 girls.
I got crafty myself...
I went to Michaels, and was actually looking for those little white piggy banks. I thought I decorate them and give them to my girls to collect their laundry coins in for college.
No such luck, the piggy's were all sold out.
The next best thing - which I liked better --- I found these little tin boxes with polka dots and stripes, different colors. I used paint pens and wrote their names on them, and then decorated them with buttons, beads, ribbon, and pompom balls. They turned out really cute -- all for about $25. Not bad at 2.50 a piece.
Oh Michelle, I just cannot even imagine what that must feel like, your Mom must have been young.....I pray today that you will treasure all the memories, the tree is beautiful, a great symbol.
I'm so sorry for the loss of your mother. I am saying a prayer for you right now. You and she were both quite young when this happened. I'm sorry you have not had her with you. Bless you, Kathi
From now on, I am going to grab the good times with both arms. I am going to walk outside and feel the sun on my face and learn to laugh, really laugh again. Most of all, I'm going to take the love that comes my way and hold on to it for dear life. Sometimes we don't need new scenery, just new eyes. ~Dawn Miller
Be An Encourager!
A smile of encouragement at the right moment may act like sunlight on a closed-up flower; it may be the turning point for a struggling life. ~Author Unknown
"Measuring A Life"
My deeds will be measured not by my youthful appearance... but by the concern lines on my forehead...
The laugh lines around my mouth...
and the chins from seeing what can be done
for those smaller than me or who have fallen.

I Am A Pink Warrior!
I was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer in July 2008. Since that time I've had a double mastectomy, reconstruction, chemo, radiation and several other surgeries. Fast forward a year...it's now July 2009 and I'm all done with treatment. My hair has grown back, I'm feeling great! GOD is good and life is good! I've gotten loads of support from family and friends. I'm living a "NEW NORMAL" these days and just very thankful to be here!!! Always keep a positive attitude and don't pass up an opportunity to show love and kindness to others. Don't live your life with regrets and enjoy each day!

Hello there ~ welcome to my blog! My name is Michelle. I've been married to a great guy for 20 years and we've been very blessed with 3 cool kids - a boy & 2 girls. My family means everything to me and I try to make our home a wonderful place to be. I LOVE to decorate and work on "trash to treasure" projects ~ that's what I can be found doing most of the time (um, sometimes other than what I'm SUPPOSED to be doing...like laundry, for instance! LOL) I think laughter is a vital part of life so I always try to choose to look at the humorous side of things...if life throws lemons your way, why not make lemonade, right?!
Ive been thinking of you today about that.
ReplyDeleteLove and big, big hugs,
