Gifts Galore

Our little niece is turning 3 so I decorated a "big girl" bag for her and made a special birthday card. I really enjoy handmade touches when giving gifts. That flower was fun to make...just circles, folds and a few stitches.

We used to live next door to a wonderful family for about 10 years and our kids grew up together. Now their oldest child is getting married tonight! (Can't believe it...I feel so old...I've known this little gal since she was about 5 years old!) I decided to put together a gift basket of Christmas decorations since most young couples starting out don't always have a lot of that type of thing.

Michael's had these cute little chipboard albums in their dollar section so I made an "Our First Christmas" book for the happy couple.
I decorated the blocks after seeing a few different versions online and this is what I came up with.
Here's the front of the gift basket. I also included several other things, as you can obviously see. A bag of scented pinecones, cards, an ornament, gift bags, a Home Interiors decorative music thing/candle holder and some other stuff.
I wrapped the whole basket with tulle and lots of ribbons. I'm very pleased with how everything turned out and I think they'll like it, too!

Oh yeah, and my jury duty service? All done now, thankfully. It's so frustrating how you have to sit at the courthouse and waste your time waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting. I never was seated on a jury (man, was I ever glad!) and the judge excused me today because of the whole wedding deal. What a nice guy, eh? :)

Enjoy your weekend!

  3. Hi Michelle!

What a darling idea. I love it! And when you're a newlywed you don't have money to spend on decorations. SO clever!

  5. What a great gift basket of home made goodies. And the pictures of your family on the side bar are so precious. I work with teenagers, so I was smiling at the personality you could see in each one. Thanks for visiting my blog and for the compliment.
