Our Chicago Trip

We had such a fabulous time in Chicago! Those two days we spent there were like a gift to me! (Well, the trip actually WAS a gift of sorts to us LOL We were blessed with it by Bobby's employer & GM... everything was paid for from start to finish...sure can't beat that!) Hey, don't ya just love the reflection of my arms in my sunglasses?! hee hee Well, no one was around to take our picture :)
This is the hotel we stayed at. It's called the "W" hotel. It's on Lakeshore Drive overlooking Lake Michigan.
What a very contemporary looking "W", huh? This is the front of the hotel.
Our room was on the 25th floor overlooking the Lake front & Navy Pier. WOW!!!
What a beautiful view, huh? Looks like a postcard to me :)

Sorry this picture is a bit dark and hard to see. You'll probably have to click on it to see the pillow I'm talking about up close. See that large throw pillow? Bobby joked around that it looked like one half of the fuzzy dice he had hanging in his car as a teenager! LOL Anyone remember those silly looking things?
Yes, that chaise lounge was just as comfortable as it looks! Ugh, I soooo wanted to take it home with me...I've got the perfect spot in my living room!
Our room was very contemporary with an Asian flair. Love the TV, don't you?
This was the 'in room' goodie box. Check out the prices below! (Whoa)
'Who wants a drink?' Well, NOT ME at those prices!!! ha ha ha ha ha
'Why not a snack?' Um, probably 'cause I'm such a cheapskate and I'd NEVER pay so much! LOL Do $6 Pringles actually taste better? Just kidding :)
These upholstered ottomans were soooooooo comfy! You can wait for the valet in comfort :) See the spiral topiary? It smelled like it had hair perm solution on it...yuk!!!

You could sit in front of the hotel in these great rocking chairs and look out at a lovely view of Lake Michigan and Navy Pier. It was really beautiful!

I've got LOTS more to share! In the next few posts I'll share pictures of our first evening in Chicago and our wonderful afternoon meeting a fellow blogger, then our dinner cruise on Lake MI. Stay tuned!!!

Until next time,
Michelle

  7. What a great trip you had! That hotel is something else! I can't believe the prices of those snacks! Love the cool modern decor. I just read about how you met up with Kelly from Serenity Cottage on your trip. That is so cool! How wonderful for you to finally meet. If you ever find yourself in Oregon, make sure you look up my sister, Kathi (Feathering My Nest) and I and we will meet you somewhere!

    Hugs, Sharon
