My 'Little' Guy :)

MY LITTLE BOY

I remember when you were my little boy,
An extension of my very being.
My every waking moment belonged to you.
One evening when I called you to supper,
You came to the table all grown up.
Where did all the in-between go?
Now, I shall always call you "my son"
But in my heart...
You'll always be my little boy.

It never ceases to amaze me how time really does fly by. It seems like when our kids are little a lot of times we can't wait for them to grow up. Become more independent. Well, I used to think that...but I don't anymore. This teenage season in our kid's lives (well, the older two anyway) is a bittersweet time. I'm learning that all right!

I don't have an updated picture of Tyler and me together - the one you see is just over a year old. Tyler doesn't like having his picture taken so that one will have to do :)

Hope everyone has a great weekend...does anyone have any special plans? Tomorrow night Bobby & I are going to another dress-up 'ball'. (I'm starting to feel like Cinderella here....we went to one last weekend and now we're going again this weekend LOL)

  2. That picture of the two of you is too cute! You look so young I thought it was your daughter and your son.

I hope you have fun at your party.

We have no plans - James will be out of town so the girls and I will be cleaning the house then relaxing.

  3. Okay, Michelle, that poem made my mascara run down my face:o) Being the mother of a son, I can SO RELATE to every word. I know you and Bobby will have a wonderful time at the ball and the best part is you won't have to be home by midnight;o)

  4. I loved the poem and can totally relate to your feelings these days...I just did a post of my own on empty nesting. You like it and don't like it all at the same time.

  5. What a cute boy! You are so blessed with your great family! I agree, it is sad how fast they grow and the time just goes by so fast! Sometimes it hits me hard that my two older boys are moved out and independent and they are no longer under my roof, but they are doing very well and this is the way God designed it.

    Have a great weekend!

  10. Michelle, I thought I'd comment on this post as I wanted to remember what Tyler looked like. Good, now I have a mental picture of him. I'm just about to phone my prayer partner and another one who is joining us. They are at church and I have a sick 6 year old and stayed home tonight. I'm going to pray over the phone with them. I thought I'd pray for your son again. I've prayed a few times today. I don't know what it's about, but I can guess, because I have a teen-age son too. Mine is in that inbetween boy and man stage. He doesn't know where he fits, but wants to get away from me telling him what to do. He's become rude at times. He wants to try things that I'd rather he wouldn't try. He tells me he doesn't have time to read his Bible, but yet there always seems to be time for video games. This is one of the things I am praying with Dawn about. We both want our sons to respect us and love the Lord with all their hearts. It's hard when we hear them say disrespectful things or act too grown up or busy to help us. We are praying for miracles with our children. I have lots of hope because God's Word is the Truth and that's what we are standing on. Also, Sharon's boys (my sister) did a little bit of this, and I can remember her calling me to pray. God has done wonderful things in her boys. God bless you Michelle. I didn't know what to pray so I prayed that Tyler would be drawn by the Holy Spirit to follow after the Lord with his whole heart and to honor you and your husband. I also prayed that he would be surrounded by godly friends, and would read his Bible. Hugs and hope, Kathi
