Sadly, there's no before shot of this little beauty. Oh, just trust me when I tell you that the new paint job improved it by like - oh say A THOUSAND PERCENT! Imagine chipped, damaged wood peeling off - bad, bad shape....
This table was just sitting at the street (a couple of houses away from where we lived at the time) waiting for Mr. Garbage Man to come along. I noticed it on the way back from taking my daughter to school and honestly, I really debated about walking over to pick it up. (Did I happen to mention my husband's annoyance with my "treasures"? Let's just say he's not exactly on board. Oh, the guy just has no vision! LOL)
Well, obviously I went over and got it. Being creative and transforming a junk piece into something cool and useful has such a way of relaxing me if I'm really stressed out. That's exactly what this little table project did for me....at the time I was walking through such a difficult season of life and it just felt sooooo good to get some of that stress out by CREATING (my hands are waving through the air quite dramatically as I say "creating" ha ha ha ha ha). Anyway, it's a great feeling of fulfillment when the project is complete and you can stand back to look at the finished result.
Thanks for looking!
I just love your whimsical touches!
ReplyDeleteGirl! we would be the best neighbors (if you ever move back to NC --heehee!) My husband doesn't have the vision either! I'd been begging him for 3 years to paint his old nasty bedroom furniture "No. No. No. No" -- until he saw me paint that tv stand black, now he's given his permission! Crazy men!
I love the table!
Hi, Michelle, love your little table! Yes, we creative types can see past a little dirt & ugliness to what it can become. A diamond in the rough! You did a great job making it pretty again.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being so sweet! You always say the nicest things & yes, I appreciate your prayers. I will keep going until things take off, not giving up!
xo,
Rhoda
I love your vision! Sometimes I get a little annoyed when people can't picture something in a new way....you know, trash to treasure. I have a similar table just waiting for me to give it a makeover. Thanks for the inspiration, Hugs, DebraK
ReplyDeleteMichelle, thanks for the sweet e-card! Made my day...you are so thoughtful.

Michelle love how you've painted that little table! It reminds me of the things Tracy Porter does.
