Isn't this cool?

This is a painting that a friend of my son Tyler's created for his senior art class last school year. He painted it using a picture of Tyler as his guide. I think it turned out really neat, don't you? (The eye is just a bit off and sort of the mouth but hey, I'm no art critic, y'know, and I don't claim to be. I'm creative but I do not draw or paint. Plus I have to say it really does look better in person all put together correctly; the picture above just doesn't do it justice.)

This artwork hung in the halls of the high school until recently. Tyler's friend offered it to him but then I LOVED it when Ty showed it to me so I asked if he would mind if I hang it in the hallway as you enter the house through our front door. It's not at all in my color scheme/ decor but I don't mind. I just think it's a fun, whimsical piece of art! Doesn't hurt that it also depicts someone I happen to love very much :) ha ha

  1. That is so neat! I am so in awe and impressed with people with artistic ability like that!

  2. Cool painting! How big is it?

I'm finally able to do some catching up! We got our new computer this week and it's been great!

    I love your stockings!

    Have a great day!

  3. What a neat Painting.Something you can cherish forever:o)

    Blessins', Lib

  4. Susan ~ Yeah, I'm impressed, too! Wish I could draw; I'm creative but I'm not even good at drawing STICK PEOPLE! LOL

Jennifer ~ Oh YAY, you got your new computer; that's exciting!!! I'm not sure of the dimensions; I'll have to measure it and tell ya. I'm glad you like the stockings!

Lib ~ I'll bet that's neat to see your brother's artwork hanging in your home!

  5. WOW! That is amazing! I'm sure Tyler is very proud of it as well, what an honor for his portrait to be painted by a friend.

When I got married last year, my Mom hung my wedding portrait in the entry of their home. I'm still a little taken aback by this gigantic picture of myself greeting me each time I walk in! (I laugh to myself, because my brother & his wife had a picture done at their wedding as well... but Mom put that one behind the door. I always say that he's the beautiful one, that's why I giggle at the thought :o) ha!!)

I appreciate each and every single one of you who stops by for a visit...thank you! Please leave me a comment...I really love hearing from you :)
